To sign up with the Superintendent to home educate your child, you simply need to write (and sign) a letter (certified or hand-delivered &signed), stating you will be homeschooling your child according to the FL Statutes, including your student's name, birthdate, and address.

This information is included in the packet you can obtain at the home of Debbie Dykes.

We encourage you to withdraw your student from the school, requesting a transcript, on the same day you notify the superintendent.

Once registered with the school board, please notify them should you move. Should you join a "private" umbrella school or discontinue homeschooling, you must also write a "letter of termination" of your home education program.
The SHARE DIRECTORY is printed every October.

Pick up your copy at the next skating event!
Dear Homeschooling Family:

Thank you for your inquiry into a Manatee-Sarasota area homeschool support group. SHARE has approximately 800 families in the area. While there is no religious requirement, about 90% of the parents are Christian. All are welcome to attend our activities.
Sports & Activities
Involvement with a "Small Group" is vitally important to your homeschooling success!
Note: This is not to be construed as the giving of legal advice."
Vocabulary Word for the Day

We have a yearbook (staffed by teens), "Small Groups" who meet monthly according to age group and locality.

Calendars can be picked up at the public libraries, Keyboards & More, Family Bookstores, and Living Word Bookstore, as well as in the thick packet "New Homeschooler Packet of Information" which is free, but must be picked up at the home of Debbie Dykes.
Dates are scheduled.
There are also one or two field trips planned each month coordinated by a volunteer parent. The annual calendar lists field trips and a monthly calendar provides specific information.
Annual calendars are provided AFTER August 26th, at the SHARE beach parties, online (with a paid subscription of $10 informational emails including calendars or $5/calendars-only) or at area libraries, Keyboards & More, Living Word Bookstore, Family Christian Bookstores, School Days Education Resources, or Bart's Family Diner.
Please check out which group is in your area (on the calendar) and join in on the fun and fellowship!
